Team Hoyt

Sunday, 17th June is a father’s day which i started my day called up my dad n wish him a Happy Father’s Day… He was laughing happily listening to that wishes… Wish can give him more… Anyway, my dad always soar highest among the rest =p Go Dad!!!

Then in celebreting this father’s day, Dyana n I were invited to our friend’s church. Hm… should thanx him for the invitation… I did enjoy their program, especially the band, always feel good to see people performing in the stage at their best level… Applause for them… ^ ^

But the best part is when the pastor shared with us a very touching story - of course related to that day topic - Father’s Day…

It’s about a Hoyt family, where a son named Rick was born with disability. When he was eight months old the doctors told Dick n his wife (Rick’s parents) that they should just put him away — he’d be a vegetable all his life, that sort of thing. But Dick didnt give up on his son. He brought him home and try their best to let Rick lives as ‘normal’ as possible.

And now, they has been inspirators, motivators for a lot of people (They dedicate their life in participating in sports - Marathon or Triathlon).

The pastors show us the video of the hardest competition that they had ever participated. I was really touched and cried >.<

From the video, i can see If others has to run in marathon by carrying his/her own body, Dick has to run pushing Rick in his wheelchair. When others has to cycling only by his/her own, Dick has to carry Rick in front of their bike. And if others has to swim and conquer the competition by his/her own,  Dick has to do it together with Rick, with a boat tied to Dick’s waist as he swam.

And what i remember from the story, people asked Dick to compete alone, and he might have defeat the world’s best record if he does so… But what Dick said is "Rick is my  heart beat, and I run for him, so it just impossible if i can run without my heart beat" (not exactly like this, but something which have the same meaning)

Although, Dick’s is ‘crowned’ with "Father of the century" by the world, however inside himself, he might know well, that Rick actually the one who has saved his life.

Coz few years back, Dick was diagnosed having problem with his heart, so if He is not the type that doing sport that much, He might has passed away few years back. Suprising!!!

If wanna know more regarding the Hoyt Team, just go to www.teamhoyt.com

They let me learn "No matter what life throws at you, you can still do whatever you want. it just takes a little more effort and a truck load of determination."

It’s really an inspiring story… J
